Never Run Out of Ideas: The Suggested Posts Panel
Staring at a blank "new post" screen trying to think of an angle is its own kind of writer's block. The Wagtail admin dashboard carries a small panel, Suggested posts, that exists specifically to shortcut that moment.
Click Refresh suggestions and it looks at your most recently published posts — their titles and categories — and comes back with a handful of new angles, each with a one-line rationale for why it's worth writing given what's already been covered, and a suggested category.
It's deliberately the simpler of two features that were both on the table here. The alternative would have been a reader-facing "you might also like" widget — but this platform already has that, built from actual category/tag overlap (see the sidebar on any post). An AI-driven version of the same thing would have been a second, redundant layer solving a problem that was already solved. An idea generator for the person about to write, on the other hand, was a genuinely open gap — so that's the one that got built.
Refreshing replaces the whole batch rather than adding to it — if nothing in the current set fits, click Refresh again rather than digging through a growing pile of stale suggestions.
