What's Under the Hood for Search and Growth
None of this is visible on the page, which is exactly why it's easy to skip — and exactly why skipping it quietly caps how much reach a post can ever get.
- Sitemap (
/blog/sitemap.xml) lists every published post with its real absolute URL, so search engines can find everything without waiting to discover it through links. - robots.txt points crawlers straight at that sitemap.
- Structured data — every post carries a schema.org
Articleblock (headline, dates, author, cover image) for richer search-result cards, built automatically from fields you're already filling in. - Pagination on the index, category, and search pages, so a growing archive never becomes one impossibly long scroll.
- Newsletter capture at the end of every post — just an email and a timestamp for now; wiring it to an actual send tool is a separate step once there's a list worth mailing.
Individually these are small. Together, they're the difference between "a nice-looking blog" and one that's actually reachable by the people who'd want to find it.
